Description
Gallstones are formed in the gallbladder predominantly from high concentrations of cholesterol. Gall bladder attacks frequently occur when gallstones block the bile duct and can cause extensive pain in the upper right quadrant of the abdomen which may radiate to the upper back.
Treatment involves the prevention of gall stone formation and increasing the solubility and flow of bile.
Lecithin increases the solubility of cholesterol while the lipotropic factors betaine, choline, inositol and methionine, in combination with milkthistle and dandelion, promote bile flow and increase bile secretion from the liver. Milkthistle may also dissolve existing gallstones. Other nutrients have a synergistic function
