Description
Brain cells (also called neurons) communicate with each other via the use of neurotransmitters, special chemicals made by the brain cells themselves. All learning, remembering, emotional well-being, sleeping, digestion, growth, tissue repair etc, as well as body movement depend upon the brain cell’s ability to produce neurotransmitters and deliver these to other brain cells, as well as to respond to neurotransmitters sent from brain cells.
Neurotransmitters are made from nutrient precursors that we obtain from our food. Deficiencies in these nutrient substances can lead to an imbalance of neurotransmitters in the brain and result in impaired immune function, forgetfulness, fatigue, anxiety and depression.
Treatment is aimed at restoring the level of nutrient precursors and associated co-factors.
In the formula choline is formed into acetylcholine, an important memory nutrient, acetylcarnitine enhances the production of acetylcholine, phenylalanine forms dopamine and noradrenaline, while taurine stimulates neuron formation and proliferation to help sustain learning and memory.
